Given that the NHL are on an Olympic break locally the other two pro clubs, namely the BC Lions and the Vancouver Whitecaps are focused on putting a solid squad of players together for the upcoming season.

The Whitecaps are in discussion of looking to secure a new facility or just stay put at BC Place for the coming season with funding help from the Provincial Government which is meeting heavy opposition.

The BC Lions are working on putting together a winning squad who start the season in Kelowna due FIFA taking control of the stadium – again with lots of opposition.

The following is from Matt Baker, Senior Manager of Communications and Content which we thank him for the press release.
