locally the BC Lions continue to focus on the upcoming season with some impressive signings of various players.

The BC Lions have recently signed four American D-backs namely Adonis Alexander, Joe Foucha, Bruce Harmon and Alex Teubner.

Alexander (6 ‘2, 195 lbs) was selected by Washington in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft in the six round with stops in the USFL and XFL stints in New Orleans and Michigan from 2022-24.

He suited up in nine games recording eight combined tackles and later had NFL practice roster stints with both the Rams and 49ers playing in 34 games at Virginia Tech from 2015 to 2017, 

He had 126 total tackles (91 solo, 35 assisted), seven interceptions, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery.

Foucha (5’9, 198 lbs) was named Indoor Football League D-Player of the Year playing for the Panthers (2025) and previously had NFL mini-camp stops in 2023 with KC and Buffalo.

He dressed in 44 games at Arkansas (2019 to 2021) ending his time with a win in the Outback Bowl over Penn State eventually transferring to Louisiana State for his senior year with 40 total tackles (25 solo, 15 assisted), four pass breakups and a forced fumble in ten appearances at safety.

Harmon (6’0, 202 lbs)- signed with the Cowboys as a non-drafted free agent playing for the majority of camp who dressed in 55 games at Stephen F. Austin (2019 to 2024) recorded 103 total tackles (71 solo, 32 assisted), eight interceptions, 37 pass breakups and one fumble recovery.

Teubner (6’1, 200 lbs) attended rookie mini-camp with the Ravens earlier this past year after a five-year career at Boise State who had 195 total tackles (117 solo, 78 assisted), two interceptions, 12 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Teubner was named Defensive MVP of the 2023 Mountain West Championship game after ten tackles and a forced fumble against Nevada.

The BC Lions also signed D-lineman Mayan Ahanotu, D-back Lorando Johnson, D-back Tanner Volk and D-lineman D.J. Walden.

Ahanotu (6’3, 285 lbs)- was a member of the Indoor Football League Vegas Knight Hawks (2025) collecting 12 tackles and one blocked kick in addition to dressing in five games with the U of Minnesota (2018 to 2019) eventually transferring to Rutgers playing in 45 games over the four seasons.

There he managed 54 total tackles (19 solo, 35 assisted), 10.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery earning a Big Ten Honourable Mention and a Big Ten Sportsmanship award in his senior season.

Johnson (5 ’11”, 182 lbs) spent four seasons with the Baylor Bears with his first start in the Sugar Bowl ending 2021 recording 61 tackles, 24 pass breakups and a pair of interceptions across 44 games.

Volk (6’1, 189 lbs) attended rookie mini-camp with the Seahawks (2025) after four seasons at Central Washington University recording 307 total tackles (146 solo, 141 assisted), 24 interceptions, a pair of defensive touchdowns, two defensive touchdowns, 42 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

In 2023, he was the first Wildcat in program history to win the Cliff Harris Award as the top small college defensive player in NCAA Division II.

Walden (6’1, 250 lbs)- spent the last two seasons with the Albany Firebirds of Arena Football One, helping them advance to Arena Bowl XXXIII in 2024 but in 2025, he put managed a career-high numbers: 22 total tackles (18 solo, four assisted), nine sacks, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries in ten games.

He dressed in 31 games with Shorter University (2018 to 2021) recording 79 total tackles (42 solo, 37 assisted), four sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The BC Lions signed American wide-receiver Jaelon Darden (5’9, 175 lbs) and was selected in round four (129th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2021 NFL Draft playing in 21 games over the next two seasons. 

He returned 50 punts for 472 yards and 21 kickoffs for 426 yards, while hauling in eight receptions for 14 yards and was claimed by the Browns in December 2022 then dressed in ten games over three seasons with 61 punt returns for 633 yards and adding 139 yards on six kickoff returns. 

He ended up with Seahawks for the final five games in 2024 recording 199 yards on seven kickoff returns and 75 yards on ten punt returns.

Lions GM Ryan Rigmaiden mentioned “Jaelon gives Buck’s offence another playmaker at wide receiver and another elite option in the return game for our special teams unit as well as adding explosive players to the roster is always a priority, and we’re excited to have him.”

He played with North Texas (2017 to 2020) leaving with program records in receptions (230), receiving yards (2,782) and touchdowns (38).

His senior year he managed 19 TD’s setting a new single-season record for the program along with 1,190 yards were the second-highest ever for the program.

He capped off his 2020 campaign by earning First Team All-American recognition from Pro Football Focus and the Football Writers Association of America.
