Given the changes from one season to another it’s no real surprise that the Warriors are a eam to be reckoned with this season looking to advance in the standings.

The recent road-trip to Calgary was or seemed to be the start albeit after a few weeks in the season that has them playing solid aggressive play which is welcomed by the solid fan base in the area.

On the recent road trip to the Scotiabank Saddledome it was Calgary that made the Roughnecks officially make Dane Dobbie ‘Forever A Roughneck’ only to have the Warriors play the spoiler heading home with an 11-10 O/T win in front of 8,799 fans at WestJet Field at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Leading the scoring was Tanner Cook with four goals while Aden Walsh made several impressive stops and ended up with 42-saves albeit on the losing side.

The Warriors opened the scoring with Curtis Dickson putting the visitors on the board only to have Calgary pull even a minute later off a diving play with Brayden Mayea starting the play two and a half minutes into the first quarter.

The next ten minutes was scoreless as Marcus Klarich and Cook traded goals minutes apart to keep the game even after the first quarter.

The second saw a different game considering that both clubs played much more aggressively that saw Calgary drop in the scoring by a 5-3 margin with three-goals in six minutes for Vancouver.

A short 32 seconds Cook hammered his second in the contest which was followed up by Riley Loewen that saw them even the game at five.

Vancouver continued to press until the end of the first half grabbing two additional markers taking a 7-5 lead after two quarters.

Vancouver managed to hammer home three-straight goals in the third extending their lead to five considering that Haiden Dickson put one over the shoulders of Warriors Del Bianco.

Calgary managed to have a shift in the game with a marker from Tyler Pace along with a couple timely goals for number nine on the season and put the game back in reach for Calgary.

Cook sniped home his second hat-trick of the season with a shot near the top of the restraining line. He wasn’t done there.

The following possession saw a diving effort for the game tying goal with five-straight unanswered goals making it 10-10 heading to O/T that saw Curtis Dickson score the game winning goal heading home with the “W.”

Tyler Pace – 7 pts (2G, 5A)

Haiden Dickson – 7 pts (2G, 5A)

Tanner Cook – 6 pts (4G, 2A)
