South Coast Women’s Hockey League Championship

The six-team field is set for the 2026 SCWHL Playoff Tournament set for March 27-29 ikn the Fraser Valley.

Six teams from the South Coast Women’s Hockey League will be in Chilliwack  at the Sardis Sports Complex for a three-day competition, determining a league champion and also a BC Hockey champion in the Senior AA (female) category.

The North Shore Rebels have won three of the past four provincial championships by winning the SCWHL playoff tournament, coming up a goal short in the 2024 final against the Meadow Ridge Moose,

North Shore is currently in fourth place in the SCWHL with three games to play, but is 9-1-2 (win-lost-tied) in the past dozen games.

Jess Sibley, who played with the Syracuse Orange (2013-17)  and Buffalo Beauts of the NWHL (2017-18), leads the Rebels in scoring with eight goals and 19 points in 14 games played. Last season’s SCWHL Playoff MVP Karmen Mooney, has 10 goals and 18 points in 20 games played.

The Moose have finished first in the past three consecutive SCWHL seasons, but have lost to the Rebels in two of the past three seasons. 

Meadow Ridge is the 2025-26 regular season champion in the SCWHL, and seeded first in the six-team field.

The Moose are 20-2-2 this season, and are paced by SCWHL scoring leader Ashley McCabe (21 goals, 33 points in 18 games played) and former UBC Thunderbird Shay-Lee McConnell (13 goals, 22 points in 15 games played).

After missing the playoff tournament a year ago with an 11-16-1 record, the Victoria-based Island Surge are in second place at 16-9-0.

The third-place South Fraser TNT boast four-time SCWHL All-Star Shea Weighill, currently second in the SCWHL scoring race with 16 goals and 31 points in 24 games played.

The fifth team to qualify are the fifth-place Fraser Valley Jets with an 11-10-1 record, and the sixth-place Richmond Devils,

The first round of the tournament will see the six teams play in two groups of three. 

After round robin play on Saturday we’ll be will see the third-place team in each group eliminated, the remaining four teams will play in a semifinal round Saturday night. 

The final day of the Championship will start the following day (Sunday) which will be the Bronze medal championship game at 10 am followed by the league championship game at 12:15 pm.
