For many Summer sports as we know them, they are now played for the most part year round albeit they only play in various local tournaments as well take part in events world wide putting Canada on the world stage.
One question that I continue to hear is “how is it that the governing body of the sport continues to recycle the same individuals to run the program.”
It’s a fair question to ask with a follow-up question being “is there or are there no other individuals who step up or even get asked to send in a resume” which is also a valid question.
Regardless it’s the same old – same old group who run the program which is quite often called “the old boys club” in the ball hockey circles, which is not the normal thing that happens for hockey canada.
Starting from young players who have grown up playing the sport they continue to play a sport they love around the world with the most recent win being at the Men’s Masters 35+ World Championship in Pembroke, Bermuda that took place November 16, 2025.
It was an all-Canadian showdown match-up that featured Team Canada edging Team Saskatchewan Mammoth with Team Canada pulling out a 2–1 win at the 2025 ISBHF Men’s Masters 35+ World Championship.
The game went right down to the wire, with both sides trading chances and nearly identical shot totals.
Standouts:

• Mike Dyke – 1A
