Grayson’s Dream Becoming Reality

In an earlier post I mentioned that I had met a young man named Grayson who plays various sports such as hockey, football and ball  hockey to name only three.

We first met last spring at the Kids Sport Gala in Tsawassen and had a chance to talk about sports given that he has a passion for sports and helping others.

Since then we have kept in touch at various events with the first being the Vancouver Giants training camp where he met the coaching staff all thanks to Giants broadcaster Nathan Kanter.

Grayson has a passion and I for one never thought that I would (ever) meet a young person who has such a passion for helping others, noting that some adults could learn a life lesson from him.

He is getting the word out about acquiring used sports equipment and wants to donate it to others who are less fortunate and not able to afford the price it costs to at least get started.

I reached out to the Delta Ice Hawks ownership asking if he could take part in the pre-game skate which they were extremely welcoming to the team prior to the game welcoming him to the team.

He was thrilled to be welcomed by the team and for him taking part in the pre-game skate whas like Christmas came early which was followed by an interview after the first period on Eastlink TV game of the week.

Grayson has a dream which has taken off like wild fire and has set up an event which he and his family are  currently focused on hosting an event for used and donated  equipment for kids who simply can’t afford the exorbitant cost.

We are working to help Grayson to fulfill his dream and recently I have managed to get my “buddy” Laird Allan involved to help out who also has a site to help out called the thehockeygranddad.ca

If you have any used sporting equipment that you are able to donate to help Grayson please reach out to me and we’ll put you in touch to make a donation.

We’ll keep you posted on the upcoming event which is slowly drawing close to next spring so start early to get any used equipment and  reach out to us at sportswave@dccnet.com and we’ll be sure to pass it on.

A great cause that will change the lives of some kids that can’t afford the cost.

Get involved – help Grayson help others!!!!
